Take-Away Tip: Mind Over Matter

What I Learned From Gurmukh, Teacher to the Stars
Cindy Crawford, David Duchovny, and countless other LA big wigs count on her to keep them in touch with what’s deeply true in the face of immense superficiality. She’s published two books, donates great amounts to charities, and travels the world sharing life-transforming Kundalini yoga sessions. Plus, she can do the splits.

Gurmukh Kaur Khalsa, Kundalini Yoga celeb, floated into Vancouver on Thursday, to spend a weekend with us West Coasters. We danced, we laughed, we worked so hard we thought we’d never be able to walk the next day, and we took away tips to improve our life.

Top Take-Away Tip:
The mind creates the body. The mind creates the body. The mind creates the body.

She really did repeat it three times. Because our mind jumps in and says “Hey! No I don’t. Whatchu talkin’ ’bout Willis?” The mind creates the body.

We began to understand. Our mind, in all it’s over-protective, habit-formed glory, tells us things like:
– “You can’t do that. Your back is too weak.”
– “You shouldn’t enter into that situation. You always react this way.”
– “You won’t be able to make it through this workshop without taking a snack break. You have blood sugar issues.”

And yet. And yet. We breathe deep, we sing the mantras, we listen when she says “Just a little bit more. Do the best you can.” And we can, and we don’t react that way, and we do make it through.

We override the mind, we trust our body, and we learn that we can do it.

We can. You can.
