Why Not Getting it Right the First Time is a Good Thing

We tried it once: no such luck. Again: nadda. One more time: nothing doing.

And they said, “Ah, just let it go. It’s no big deal. Why bother?”

But we were frustrated. Pissed off. Annoyed. We wanted to get it done and get it right. So we tried again. Bingo!

Dr. Varma, director of the Pacific Centre for Wholistic Living, an Ayur Vedic institute, says that, despite the dominant mantra to “let it go”, there are plenty o’ times when frustration and stick-to-it-ness does us good. It drives us to explore new territory, try new things, zap some neuro-transmitters down some new paths, and, bingo!, arrive somewhere new and rewarding.
