The day the ocean pulled my feet out from beneath me I fell onto the rocks Blood seeped from the scrapes on my hands As I scrambled to rise before the next wave It came Again I tipped, sliding, falling, losing a sandal, frantic in the surf Hands and feet searching for an anchor There was nothing to hold onto There was nothing to hold onto There was nothing to hold onto The day the ocean pulled my feet out from beneath me And drew me deeper out to sea I let go
