To Keep the Yoga Going Off the Mat

On the mat: we notice the movements, and moments, between poses. In transition, we send our attention and intention to the motion that happens when we pick our foot up, and place it down; sit up, and sit down. We give our busy minds something to focus on other than anticipation, pride, anxieties, worries. We stay present, we breathe, we flow.

Off the mat: we notice the movements, and moments, between “doing”. In transition, we send our attention and intention to the feel of our bare feet walking on the kitchen floor, the sensations in our hands as we reach for the cupboard handle. We give our results-oriented minds something to focus on other than planning. We stay present, we breathe, we flow.

I love this quote: We are human beings; not human doings.
